Object:The Zlatarski family
Description:Full length portrait of a group of two adults and four children: On the left a woman in a dark urban dress and holding a fan is sitting on a sofa. A man in a suit is standing behind her, holding an infant in a white urban dress on his left and a boy in his right arm. The group is completed by two girls in black dresses, one of them sitting on a chair, the other one standing behind her.
Comment:Georgi and Venka Zlatarski with their children: Nikola, Vesa, Siyka and Vena. Georgi Nikolov Zlatarski (1854 - 1909) was a Bulgarian geologist, Professor of Geology and Mineralogy, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at the University of Sofia (1903 - 1904) and the university's Rector (1897 - 1898; 1901 -1902). He was also a member of the Bulgarian Literary Society (renamed "Bulgarian Academy of Sciences" in 1911).
