Comment: | Janko Veselinović (1862, Salaš Crnobarski – 1905, Glogovac) was the son of a parish priest and staff officer in the Serbian army. Janko graduated from the teachers' college in Belgrade and returned to the countryside, where he dedicated himself to writing novels and short stories about life in the latter half of the 19th century. He also worked for the newspapers "Srpske Novine" and "Zvezda" as associate editor and as editor. He wrote plays for the Royal Serbian National Theatre in Belgrade and also worked there as dramatic adviser. |
