Object:Wedding portrait of General Vladimir Vazov and Mara Goranova
Description:Full length studio portrait of a man and a woman standing next to each other. The woman is wearing a long white high-necked dress and a veil. She is adorned with a diadem, necklaces, and a bracelet, and she is holding a flower bouquet in her right hand. The man is wearing a military uniform with insignia of honour and carrying sword as well as holding a fur cap in his left hand. Painted canvas backdrop. Verso: signature and date in Bulgarian.
Comment:After graduating from the Military School in Sofia and finishing his specialization in Hessen, Germany, General Vladimir Vazov (1968 - 1945) became a Bulgarian officer and was promoted major general in 1917. He had three sons with his wife Mara Goranova (1882 - unknown).
