Object:Day labourers resting in a kahva
Description:Six Muslim men are sitting around two wooden tables on a sidewalk in front of a 'kahva' kahvehane. All but one are poorly dressed in various clothes with worn-out, dirty shoes. One man is sitting backwards on his chair and looking directly into the camera, neatly dressed in traditional Bosniak urban wear and fine, shiny shoes. Four men are looking into the other direction. Only the legs and shoes of the sixth man are visible in the lower left corner. The tables are empty but for a Turkish coffee set, a glass bottle and what seems to be headgear. The latter is lying in front of a white-bearded older man wearing a white pilgrim's cap (hadžijska kapa).
Comment:The poorly dressed men seem to be day labourers. The man looking into the camera may be the owner of the 'kahva' kahvehane. The bearded man in the white cap probably received it as a gift from a pilgrim: he seems too poor to have made the journey himself. Analogue photographic process, negative-positive (Agfa Isopan 17 DIN). Original preserved as a negative, stored as a negative and a digital record.
