Description:A man and a middle-aged woman inspect garments displayed on a board in the open-air in an alley in Mahmutpaşa çarşısı. The board is balanced on a small stool. Two young women are standing next to the table observing the bargain. They are wearing identical hats. Passing the scene, a man in elegant urban dress turns his head towards the photographer. In the background, a street seller carrying a large vendor's tray also looks towards the camera.
Comment:The photograph accompanied an article in Cumhuriyet with the title, ‘Preparations for bayram in the city’.
