Object:Motocycles and bicycles on Talimhane Square
Description:Six men with two motorcycles and several bicycles on Talimhane Square. Two men are alongside each motorcycle. A man in a hat bends over the vehicle closer to the camera, another wearing a leather cap and a suit is watching, with his left hand in his trouser pocket. Two men wearing flat caps, one of them of African origin, are crouched next to the motorbike in the rear. Behind them, a man with a bag over his right shoulder and an unidentifiable round object in his left hand is walking away from the scene, pushing a bicycle with his right. A sixth man on the right margin of the photograph is surveying another bicycle. In the foreground, five more bicycles are scattered between the men and the photographer's position, all of them fixed-gear bikes.
Comment:At Talimhane Square, people used to fix, rent and ride bicycles and motorbikes. From the late 1920s, the square was gradually built up.
