Object:Advertisement for the feature film ‘Born Yesterday’
Description:The frameless leaflet features a collage of the images of two women, a man, a framed typed page and three yellow stars with inscribed names. The typed page provides the storyline of the film in Serbo-Croatian in Cyrillic letters. The stars enclose the names of the leading actors. From top to bottom: Judy Holliday, William Holden and Broderick Crawford. In the top left corner, the name of the production company ‘Columbia Pictures’ is displayed, and in the top centre the Serbo-Croatian translation – ‘Juče rodjena’ – of the original English film title, ‘Born Yesterday’, as well as the words ‘American film’.
Comment:The man on the picture is William Holden, while the female images are probably Judy Holliday in different dresses and poses. The horizontal format is rather unusual. The film was directed by George Cukor and released in 1951.
